Socio-economic Value of Aquaculture to Newfoundland and Labrador
Project Description
Objective:
To form a provincial working group to research and analyze the value of this rapidly growing industry.
Background:
Researching the socio-economic value of aquaculture to the province requires a multi-stakeholder, multi-disciplinary effort. In forming a provincial working group, we need an evaluation framework for aquaculture, to define the questions and identify appropriate indicators. Job creation is only one aspect of what we need to learn. Other factors include economic and social impacts, government expenditure and research and development projects and expenditure.
