Students Making IT Work For Small Businesses in Central Newfoundland

Project Description
Objective:

To connect Memorial students with small businesses in Central Newfoundland to help solve IT issues.

Background:

The Central Newfoundland region would like to develop a program for students to make connections and small businesses can gain access to IT solutions which simplify processes and/or operations. Such a program would be beneficial to students by providing them with valuable work experience and networking opportunities. Small businesses would gain accessible and affordable IT training. Connections could be made with direct training, group sessions, workshops or presentations. Training could be on a "on call" basis or organized into training modules which can be delivered in person or online at various times during the year.

Roles for Memorial University:

Develop a program for connecting students with small to medium sized businesses in Central Newfoundland for training in IT solutions. Once the program is developed, Memorial would have a role in setting the criteria for student involvement, charting topics covered, developing material and maintaining the program delivery.
